It was a fine afternoon filled with fun and learnings as kids aged four to six years old participated in activities with their mom/dad at The NIDO® 3+/5+ City Challenge held at The KidZania Manila last October 27, 2018.
Moms and Dads are very supportive to their kids while participating at the Nido 3+/5+ City Challenge. This challenge features a series of strategically-designed activities that is aiming to help parents to guide their growing-up kids in performing basic to difficult tasks.
Celebrity Mom Bettina Carlos and Gummy put their thinking caps on in solving one of the challenges.

The Nido City Challenge at KidZania includes activities like the Bookstore, Window Washing, Acting Academy, Police Station and CSI, and Farm House. Each of these challenges come with three levels depending on who’s performing the task.
Level of Challenges to perform the task
Beginner - a joint force of parent and kid to perform the Challenge
Intermediate - either individual mom or dad and kid performance
Expert - the kid will perform the task.
By going through each level, parents become more confident and accepting in letting go of their little ones, for them to slowly learn how to manage on their own, giving way for their self-help and adaptive skills to improve. A corresponding number of stamps is earned after successfully completing each level, and exciting prizes await those who can collect a total of ten stamps.
Team Bornea kids also join the City Challenge. Chloe, my six-year daughter participated in the activities together with Mommy Aci. While her Ate Ricci and Kuya Charles we're with me exploring the KidZania.|

The different challenges teaches kids to accomplish tasks on their own, showing parents the benefits of taking a step back and letting their children go.

Language skills are also promoted as parents and kids would need to effectively communicate with each other to complete the challenges, while cognitive skills are further enhanced through tasks the require problem-solving, reasoning, memory, and decision making.
In addition, parents will also be able to aid their kids in exercising their motor skills with the various movements involved in the challenges, which range from dancing and carrying or delivering of goods, to fine motor movements such as writing.
